Hello and WELCOME to the Panther Creek Trail Rides web site! We hope you find it attractive and informative. It is the most contemporary aspect of our business as you will see.

Panther Creek is a family operation. You will see each of us getting involved to make our visitors' time enjoyable. More details on our family later. What you really want to know about is the facilities, right?

Panther Creek is located in central Missouri about 40 miles south of the state capital, Jefferson City. Off to our south west about 25 miles is the well known Lake of the Ozarks. Nearby is one of the many popular Missouri rivers, the Osage River. Our headquarters are nestled amidst plenty of natural beauty with access to 4000 acres of scenic overlooks, large meadows, rocky ravines, and winding wooded trails. Something for everyone's taste in trail riding or hiking. We have a special feature for those who prefer "driving" to "riding"...over 30 miles of trails accessible to teams and wagons.

Our facilities were initiated in 1999; our first full year of scheduled rides was 2000.  Our 4000 sq. ft. dining hall with its rustic decor will be a real comfort to you when you sit down to enjoy some of Judy's homemade meal creations. (Want proof? Click on "dining hall" above.) The stereo in the background will provide you with a selection of music to your liking and requests seldom go unanswered. Steve has a CD collection to rival any disc jockey.

Ever been to those places where you were a little afraid to use the shower house? Set your fears aside and bring your towels. You will always find plenty of toilet paper and frequently smell the pine-sol. We know what's important!!

Each campsite has access to electric and their own water hydrant.  After a challenging summer in 2006, we have double the electrical capacity and increased the water supply so we shouldn't have any more shortages.  We have about 80 hook up locations with electric and water, so getting a "good" place to park should not be a problem.  We do recommend calling ahead to reserve your space, particularly for our scheduled rides.

For your four-legged buddies we have nice accomodations, all covered with lights and water near stalls. The stall dividers go all the way to the top to prevent busy noses from reaching over. The dividers are more like a heavy duty "screen" which provides ventilation, visibility, and security. During 2007 we completed and added numerous additional stalls, complete with electric and water nearby! We now have approximately 140 stalls.  As with camping areas, we suggest reserving stalls in advance, particularly if you'd like to be in a certain area.

As mentioned earlier, we have a variety of trail styles throughout our 4000 acres. You can now preview the map and even print it if you wish.  We have added numerous new trails since we began in 1999.  You decide what challenge you are up for and we will provide direction. There are trailmarkers that you should find very useful should you decide to ride without our guides. If you prefer to let someone else make the plans, our guided rides generally head out around 9:00 a.m. You can sleep in a little if you want, savor a homemade cinnamon roll (or other breakfast traditionals), coffee or milk, and still have time to join the ride.

For details on dates, rates, and special events, or reservations, just click on the colored word that you want to investigate further. We hope you get the impression that we provide a "down home, friendly atmosphere" where no one is a stranger and kids are welcomed. PLEASE visit our guest page and let us know what you think or if you have questions. We look forward to hearing from you and hope you decide to come see us in person!!
